SEMB participates in the ‘Collider – Opportunity Validation’ program, organized by the Mobile World Capital Barcelona foundation

Two research projects developed by the SEMB group of the University of Lleida have been selected to participate in the prestigious program ‘Collider – Opportunity Validation’, organized by the Mobile World Capital Barcelona foundation. This initiative aims to facilitate the development and commercialization of emerging technologies, in this case, within the “CleanTech” sector on renewable technologies.

Projects have been overseen by a team of mentors and industry experts, who have provided essential guidance in identifying market opportunities for each technology. The program culminated on May 8 with a DemoDay at the foundation’s premises, a key event for the public presentation of these innovations.

Desideri Regany detailed the characteristics of the Convergy technology, a photovoltaic and thermal hybrid system with high solar concentration that stands out for its efficiency and flexibility in the supply of heat and electricity for industry. On the other hand, Roger Vilà introduced the RCE technology, an innovative solution for the dual and renewable production of cold and hot water by means of radiative cooling and solar collection.

The DemoDay not only allowed researchers to receive valuable feedback from experts, but also facilitated the networking with industrial representatives, marking a significant step in the transition of these technologies from the laboratory to the market.
